Welcome to Biennial 2024

From the NAES Executive Director

Welcome to NAES Biennial Conference 2024! This mission of NAES is to serve those who serve Episcopal schools and this gathering provides an opportunity for all of us to come together and celebrate the life-giving work that is happening on Episcopal schools campuses across the country.

Our theme this year is Let Your Light Shine and it is a reminder of how our common work has the potential to be the light that the world so desperately needs right now. Our keynote speaker will be Steve Pemberton, author of The Lighthouse Effect: How Ordinary People Can Have an Extraordinary Effect in the World. Steve will share his personal journey with us in which a teacher had a transformative impact on his life at a time when he needed it the most. His story is a reminder of the impact that we can make on the lives of young people each and every day.

There is another element that will make this gathering especially meaningful. I am excited to welcome our friends from the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association (ELEA) to our gathering. As you may know, both of our denominations enjoy a relationship that allows for shared ministry. This year, you will see our Lutheran friends both participating in and leading elements of our Biennial Conference. I hope that you will give them a warm welcome and enjoy having new friends alongside you during our workshops, fellowships, and worship.

As always, please know of my thanks for all that you do on your campuses and I look forward to seeing you in Fort Lauderdale! With best regards, I remain,

Yours in Christ,

David Madison

From the ELEA Executive Director

Welcome to NAES Biennial Conference 2024, “Let Your Light Shine!” We are thrilled to embark on this groundbreaking journey; the inaugural partnership between NAES and ELEA. In the past, ELEA members have attended the NAES Biennial Conference, recognizing it as an exceptional blend of professional development and faithful engagement. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our shared commitment to fostering unity, fellowship, and growth within the Episcopal and Lutheran school communities.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and The Episcopal Church stand as full communion partners, bound together by a profound dedication to our common faith and the principles of evangelism, witness, and service. This event not only celebrates our shared values but also underscores the beauty of our diverse perspectives coming together in harmony.

Throughout this conference, let us embrace the opportunity to connect, develop, and inspire one another. Together, we will illuminate pathways to excellence in education, leadership, and spiritual growth, casting our collective light upon the world.

Thank you for being a vital part of this historic occasion. Let us ignite our spirits, ignite our minds, and let our light shine brighter than ever before!
